I'VE BEEN TAGGED

by the lovely Vicki at Paperlicious Oasis. Thanks Vicki- really i mean it-lol

The rules of the game get posted at the begining. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names and then goes to their blog and posts them a comment letting then know they've been tagged and asks them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you've posted your answer:

1. Ten years ago;.

Gosh I was only 19 -how mad- and since its coming up to Fathers Day I had just got engaged to Dominic. I was working in a dodgy clothes shop and was living at home with my dad. I was soon to go on my first ever holiday abroad.

2. Five things in todays to do list;.

1. Ironing and lots of it.
2. Washing and lots of it.
3. Online grocery shop with Tesco.
4. Make my gran a birthday card, she'll be 92 tomorrow and ive to go to her birthday party with my dad in Ardee- a place in the south of Ireland where my dad is from.
5. Hopefully lie out in the sun with a good book when Alex goes for a nap!!!!!!

3. Snacks i enjoy;.

There's so many- if im having a bottle of wine i love munching on crisps especially cheesy Doritos (though im supposed to be on a bikini diet- we're off on our hols in 3 weeks)

4. Things I would do if I were a millionaire;.

I would give some money to immediate family members and set up large trust funds for the kids. Buy a huge house cause after all the kids still have school and grandparents here. Go on loads of holidays and only stay in really fancy places and shop till i drop in New York. Oh and have laser eye surgery!!!!!!

5. Places i have lived;.

Not very exciting ive always lived in the same town where i live now- Lurgan. Though we just moved into this house two years ago and its right beside the 2nd largest park in Northern Ireland.

I will now pass this tag onto Natalie and Vicki May and to anyone else who reads my blog. Im sorry but Alex is calling me...

Happy Fathers Day- DAD

wow- Two cards in one day, im on a roll. Ive made this fathers day card for Dominic's dad. The image "dressed up" by Penny Black is ideal as he got a new dog just before Christmas and he loves him to bits.

The backing paper and "DAD" are from the Dovecraft Masculine range (what would we have done without this fab range of mens stuff?), the paw print paper is by Doodlebug- i think it sets this image of brilliantly. I must say i really enjoyed doing some cardmaking today even though ive neglected the housework!!!!!!

Happy Birthday- Bubblebella

"And about time too" I can hear you say- ive finally managed to make a card- though I dont know how, my little Alex is in a foul mood and is standing beside me saying " mama bobo"!!!!! So here it is:

The gorgeous Bubblebella image is from Natalie and the backing papers are from Vicki May. I just coloured the bath, the brush and her hat in lightly with a pink pencil and used stickles for the bubbles and water. The oval greetings are from Craftwork Cards and i finished it off with little gems in the corners. Thanks for looking...

Circle of Friends

I have to say i was rather shocked to learn that Natalie passed me on this reward as ive not posted a card in ages. Thankyou Natalie its very appreciated:

It is now my turn to pass it on to four people. Firstly im giving it back to Natalie and also to Vicki May, Vicki and Gina. Im so sorry to all my blogging friends for not making any posts lately, but i promise to get something posted today...

The Sun is Shining

Hi Bloggers, sorry i havent been round much but the sun is shining so ive been outside all day every day playing with my kiddies. Im ashamed to say i havent given cards any thought at all. We are so fortunate to live beside a really big park that Alex and i have been going for lovely long walks while Aoife and Keelan are at school. In the afternoons after school we have all been out in the playground that is my back garden.

I hope everyone out there is enjoying the sun, i think its best to make the the most of it while we have it cause knowing our luck im sure the sun wont be round too long!!!!

Happy Birthday Aoife

These are the two cards ive made for Aoife's 7th birthday from her two brothers. The top one was made using a Whipper Snapper stamp "Girl with Teddy". The stripey paper and letters are by Doodlebug. I used a Woodware punch for the tag and added some silver peel offs for the 7 Today. For the second one i used Changito Happy b-day stamp by Stampendous and papers from the Spring Stack. The ribbon is Doodlebug and the greetings are from Craftwork Cards.

RAC for Vicki May

I made this image wallet to accompany some images i sent to Vicki-http://juscoscards.blogspot.com/:

Vicki always leaves me lovely little comments on my blog and it was my way of saying thanks to her. I used Tilda with blanket and paper pieced her top and watercoloured the rest. I then used Doddlebug letters to spell out her name. I used the paisley Cuttlebug folder to emboss some pink Bazzill Bling cs. The only bad thing about it is she knew someting was coming as i had to ask her for her address which kind of spoiled her surprise.

I saw and adored this card on Natalies blog so you can imagine my suprise when it landed on my doorstep this morning and revealed itself to be a gorgeous wallet containing lots of lovely Bella images!!!!!! I was so, so chuffed- ive long been a fan of Natalies cards and it was a pleasure to recieve this today. So i just want to say a big, big thank-you to Natalie and to tell her how much i really appreciated this. Thanks Natalie.

JUST BECAUSE...

I made this card simply because i wanted to have another go at water colouring. I enjoyed paper piecing yesterday i think it looks really effective so i decided to throw a bit of this in too...

I have used Tilda with blanket as i used it yesterday for the first time and i really like her. The papers are from The Spring Stack and the paper frills are by Doddlebug have used stickles on her wings and blanket and popped three little gems in the corner for added bling.

Happy Fathers Day-again!!!

I've had this fella quite some time now after seeing him on Natalie's blog. He's called Handy Mouse by Great Impressions, i couldnt really think wat to do with him then i remembered the Doverafts Kids papers so i thought id give it a go:

The letters are Loopy Love by Doodlebug and again the greeting is from Craftwork Cards. I might give this one to my dad as he is a real handy man perfect for when you need some flooring put down and he also as a shed full of tools and gadgets.

Happy Fathers Day

I wanted an excuse to ink this little fella up. I love this Penny Black stamp Dressed Up and while looking through some blogs i came across a fab sketch by Katherina-http://katherina1704.blogspot.com/ so i decided to give it a go:

It didnt go exactly as the sketch (there is supposed to a circle behind the image) but its the best i could do. Inspired by the wonderful Natalie at Crafting Fun! i decided to have another go a paper piecing so his little tie would match.

IVE BEEN TAGGED BY VICKI

I have 8 questions to answer:

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play you? And why?

2. You have to spend a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks worth & your least favourite to spend the last two weeks with. Who would they be and why?

3. What are your three favourite crafting products?

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?

5. What are the last three books that you read?

6. QVC or Create & Craft?

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?

8. What is your claim to fame?

Here goes:

1. It would have to be Reese Witherspoon as I think she is pretty, blonde and sassy, everything i inspire to be!!!!!!!

2. The first two would be with Rod Stewart so he could serenade me every day and the last two weeks would be Mark from Holby City, he bugs the life out of me and i just want the chance to punch him.!!!!!!!

3. Double sided sticky tape, rubber stamps and Cuttlebug embossing folders.

4. It would have to be The Housework Buddy- it would iron clothes and put then away, wash the floors and make sandwiches- weird i know but hate doing it....

5. The last three books are Rosie by Alan Titchmarsh- it made me cry, Never Say Never by Melissa Hill and I'll Be Seeing You by Mary Higgins Clarke..

6. Ive never watched QVC and ive never heard of the other one so i'll have to say neither.

7. Dovecrafts because i think its good value and the masculine range is a life saver..

8. My claim to fame is when i was little kiddy about 6 or 7 i got choosen from a large crowd to switch on the Christmas lights with the lord mayor at our local shopping centre. I can still remember the newspaper heading: "Noleen's eyes light up as she brightens up Craigavon Shopping Centre"- ok so it didnt make me famous for long but i was sooooooo chuffed at the time.

Ok thats me done now ive to tag someone. Its Vicki Mayhttp://juscoscards.blogspot.com

Happy Birthday Maryella

My little star Aoife is going to her friends 7th birthday party on Sunday so i set about making a girly card...

Ive used a Whipper Snapper stamp Girl and Teddy. I cant remember the name of the paper i used i have searched online to try and find out but i cant see it. Ive had to use peel off letters on this card as i really wanted the name on it but Maryella is such a long name that i could'nt fit it on any other way. The little greeting is from Craftwork Cards and i used a Woodware tag punch and attached it with a brad. I finished it off with a little Prima flower. I hope she likes it...

People, as we had "All Creatures Great and Small" as our challenge last week, we think its only fair to have "People" as our theme this week. Any people image is fine, it could be Magnolias, Bellas, Nellies, Lolas or any others.

For this challenge ive made a birthday card for my friend Jeff. I've used a Sugar Nellie stamp, the letters are by Doodlebug and the stripe backing paper is from the Christmas Stack.. The greeting is from Craftwork Cards. Its finished with a blue brad and 3 little gems...

1) Im the youngest of 3 children and was both a mummy's girl and a daddy's girl. I could do no wrong.

3) I was obsessed with the film Grease and used to watch it every day after school while pretending to be Sandy- i was hopelessly devoted.

4) I met my husband in our local shopping centre where i was working and he was taking kids portraits, i walked past wiggled my Levis bum- a moment he says he will never forget.

5) Even though i have 3 kids ive never experienced a contraction, my 1st two babies were early and born by emergency section so i had to have a third even though i had finally made it to full term.

6) When i was a baby my parents said i loved to listen to Rod Stewart and i got so embarrassed now i love him to bits and listen to him all the time.

SBS9 March Sketch

I did it!!!!!!! After tea i got stuck into creating a card according to Gina SBS9 March Sketch. I absolutely loved the layout of this sketch until i realised i had nothing to cut out the 2 circles but alas no fear i got 2 glasses out of the cupboard drew around them and done my best at cutting them out so that is why they arent perfect but hey it was my first attempt. I used paper from The Spring Matstack and the greeting is a rub on from P INC. I added to little gems for a bit of bling. Im quite pleased with the overall result and hope Gina gives it her approval.

Just a little something...

I whipped this card up after my last post just because i wanted to have a play with my new goodies, as you can see ive used my new greetings and the heart ribbon brad. I love this Nellie image but im so useless at colouring in which is a big problem as i mainly use stamped images on my cards..lol.. I'll just have to keep on trying.
Love Noleen xx

Why I love the post man...

...He always brings me some lovely goodies. The top photo is some Wonder Words from Craftwork Cards- i just love these they are an absolute life saver as i dont own any greeting stamps these are the perfect finishing touch and can look great when chalked on or jazzed up with some gems....... The second photo is a stash of goodies i ordered from Artymiss- DCWV mat stack, heart brads, heart ribbon brads, ribbons and photo anchors. I had seen the little anchors used so many times and i finally tracked some down. Living in a small town in Northern Ireland there is only one very small craft shop that is rather expensive and doesnt stock all that i want so it means endless hours trailing the internet but its always worth it when the postie turns up...

Some of my latest cards

These two cards arent for anyone in particular, both are birthday cards suitable for friends. I do have quite a few birthdays coming up so hopefully they wont be sitting around for long.

Im thinking of using this card for my MIL birthday next month... not sure though. Ive used PB stamp, prima flowers attached with brads. Backing paper is from the Spring Stack and the greeting is from Craftwork Cards.

"The Birthday Boy"

Keelan's 5th Birthday

Here are two cards i made for my son's 5th birthday last week. They were both made using the new Paper Nation decoupage images.

Ive decided to set up this little blog as being at home all day with my little two year old Alex can get a bit lonely...Ive been dabbling at making cards now for a couple of years but im not nearly as good as most of you lot out there.
